About Xtraordinary Adventures

Ever since I was a small boy I loved the outdoors. My favorite thing to do since I could remember was to make lasting memories of places and people that I visited. This love for nature and the wilderness has not stopped. This is why I love RVing and am passionate about sharing this experience with you. People generously shared their trailers and rigs with me and my family over the years and it is now my turn. When not rented I love going out with my 3 kids, 2 dogs and whatever adventure is in our souls. This is the legacy we get to pass on to my kids. I hope you enjoy our RV as much as we do. Our Mission is to create Xtraordinary Experiences! We make it easy for you to take your shoes off and relax. We cater to families that are looking to bring the outdoors to their children's life. We care about our client's experience, bringing positive customer service to you and creating an environment of fun and exploration at a cost that most families could afford. If you are looking for someone that will care about your trip as much as you do. Don't hesitate! Take that trip, meet some new people, get closer to those you love. This is what makes a life worth living.

Great motorhome rental experience! The vehicle was clean, spacious, and had all the essentials for a comfortable trip. Easy to drive and perfect for my family adventure. Bryan was very helpful and made the whole process a breeze. Highly recommend!

I can relate to the title of this outdoorsy advert "Great Value for your Money, Easy to Rent, and an Amazing Team to help you"From the start of my request there was good communication. Quick response.
I am from the Netherlands so i was looking for a reliable person. It worked out. And besides that, i couldnt find a cheaper one as it is expensive enough for me to have a holiday in the States.
The RV is not the newest RV you can get but for its age it runs smoothly.
The unique selling point is " the "rooftop".
I had a good briefing about the RV.
If i forgot about any item or had an issue i could reach out and got a quick response.
I really enjoyed the trip with this RV and i might rent it again next year. I am actually considering to go next year during the Dutch holiday season with this RV due to the good experience.

Bottom Line: I would highly recommend not renting from this host. There were several issues both with the RV and the communication with the host. Prior to the rental departure I was upfront with the hosts about our destination and that it was going to be hot and that one of the reason for choosing this particular rental was the unlimited hrs on the generator which meant that we would be able to run the AC, something that was definitely going to be needed on our trip. During our initial walk through the host informed us that the AC had been serviced but, that it did not get as cold as they would have hoped, they were correct. Also and this was the biggest omission, they neglected to inform us that there is a safety switch on the generator and that if the gas tank gets near 1/4 tank the generator shuts off. This happened right around dinner time our second night. We lost the ability to use the microwave so the food I had made in advance for a large group basically went to waste. We also lost the ability to have the AC on so being inside was near impossible. I tried to contact the hosts and after several attempts I was finally able to get through, and while I admit the only remedy was to get more gas they did not seem contrite in the slightest for not mentioning the 1/4 requirement up front. Had they done that we could have easily filled the tank prior to reaching our destination and would not have had this issue. Instead I spent the better part of the next 4 1/2 hrs trying to beg and borrow gas cans and a vehicle from strangers and making several gas runs to get the generator going again so that we could try to cool down the RV so we could get some sleep. While all of that was happening the RVs battery died as well and the Jump Starter pack provided was not able to jump the battery. I had to find someone the next day to help jump the RV. All of this was going on while my wife and I were supposed to be competing at a National Waterski Competition and I will tell you that this definitely affected our ability to perform at our best.Aside from those major issues there were also several other issues that we noted:
- This is an older RV and its age shows. Everything rattles and shakes while driving, to the point where several times it felt very nerve racking. Several of the doors on the cabinets would shake open because the latches are old and worn.
- Even though there is a mandatory $100 cleaning fee the unit was dirty and grungy when we showed up. We even found empty drink bottles and old food in the unit during the walkthrough.
- The remote for the front TV was missing, not a huge deal but my daughters were hoping to watch a movie during the drive up and back.
- Most of the window screens were torn so we were unable to open the windows at night for airflow when the AC was not working, without getting the RV filled with bugs
- The normal AC in the cockpit area would turn off whenever the accelerator was pressed, it would only come back on when I let off the gas pedal
- The lower exterior storage areas were filled with excess items making packing for our trip more difficult
- The tank level indicators for the Gray and Black water tanks did not work correctly, so we weren't sure of the levels throughout the trip.
- During our close out discussion, the host indicated that because my wife and I left the RV cleaner than we received it they were going to wave the mandatory $100 cleaning fee however, at the time of this review no credit has been applied
Some Pros:
- Their initial communication was good and they were friendly, however during and after the trip the communication has been difficult and several attempts to talk with them to try and resolve issues have gone unanswered

Phil’s answer

Dear Philip,We take all concerns seriously and want to clarify the issues raised during your rental.Regarding the generator, during our walkthrough, we always explain that it stops working when the fuel tank reaches 1/4 full to prevent stranding. Despite your call coming after hours, the owner promptly reached out and offered solutions, including using Roadside Assistance to provide gas so the generator could run overnight. We made six attempts to contact you with further solutions, but we did not receive any responses .Given the extreme August 100+ heat in Bakersfield, expecting a 70-degree interior temperature is beyond the capacity of most RV A/C units. When driving in extreme heat, especially on steep grades, the engine may turn off the A/C automatically, to prioritize performance. We’ve since updated our script to include it. We will continue improving based on feedback to ensure future renters have the best experience possible. Thank you.

We were brand new to the glamping experience. Bryan was so helpful in the initial walk through to show us how everything worked. He even helped with driving tips since the RV has a wide swing. We had a great time on our trip. Everything was in good condition and worked great. The hosts were very easy going to accommodate our pick up and drop off time preferences. We would definitely rent from them again. Thank you Bryan and Phil!

A truly outstanding experience. Before we picked the RV up, the owner and Adventure consultant were in contact with us about our needs and any questions we had. Very professional and their integrity were to match which is big in my book! My family had a wonderful and safe trip and we will definitely be renting from them again!

Phil and The Adventure Coordinator made the trip worth it. It was like my family took care of me. They thoroughly set me up and walked through the RV setup and hook up. Even answered questions late on one of my nights camping. The RV worked really well and drove great. Very comfy.

It was a great trip. The service we got from Bryan was super friendly and helpful. We did a week long trip and had no particular problems with the RV.Important to note that the RV doesn’t have wifi (which we think it says in amenities) but everything else is overall as mentioned. It’s an old RV of course but it’s very well conditioned so it’s a great value in my opinion and can take you wherever you want. Thanks for everything team!

Me and 4 of my close friends went on a 2-week trip in this RV to explore the state of California and all of the cities, coastlines, and national parks the state has to offer. This was our first time using an RV and we had a blast learning the in’s and out’s of the vehicle while using it to our advantage. All of the features of the RV worked and Bryan was always a short phone call away 24/7 to answer any questions we had. We definitely felt that we did this trip right by using this vehicle to traverse the state as it comfortably slept 5 adult men and easy enough to maneuver after some practice in a parking lot to learn it’s dimensions. I highly recommend doing business with Bryan and Phil.

Renting this RV (The Rig) was a good experience. We were a family of 6 (3 adults, 2 kids, 1 baby), we had plenty of sleeping and living space. The Awning and extended living space was a nice plus. The day of the pickup Bryan did a training on how to use the RV and what to expect. The Rig was well supplied and had thoughtful details, everybody in the group loved the experience and the creature comforts. I will be looking for this RV (with Phil and Bryan) for our next RV trip. Thanks for the great experience.
