The family was amazing!!! They helped us in a bind when our previous rental reservation was cancelled 24 hours before our trip.During our trip, we had some severe weather and freezing cold temperatures. We left some dried mud on the steps and on the outside of the trailer. Due to time constraints of the host family, we weren’t able to stop by the the trailer wash to return it as clean as we received it, which I apologize for when we returned the trailer.I was notified that I was being charged back $625 on my deposit for (1) a dent in fiberglass of the outdoor kitchen slide. We never used the outdoor kitchen and opened the door when we were looking for the electrical hookup. (2) Scratches along the side where the doors are. There were no trees. (3) It smelled like smoke. We had a camp fire, it was 32 degrees at night. (4) The front compartment door metal strip dented up from THEIR hitch.
(5) Not be clean as we received it.In all my years of rentals, I have never been charged back on my deposit!

Debby,I’m so glad you guys had a great time on your trip and that we were able to help you out with such last minute. As RV hosters we never want to have to take out any of the security deposit at the end of a rental, so please know that was never an intention. However, Outdoorsy as a platform has rules and regulations in place that protect us and we felt that there were some items that would fall into that category like you mentioned (Inside smelled like smoke, a dent and scratches down the entire right side of RV, bent metal on the compartment seal from the hitch that was used during transportation and a few more items). You went the lengths to dispute it and Outdoorsy reviewed the claim and agreed with the damages and the amounts we noted for each one. I’m very sorry that it came to it withholding any of your deposit as we always want our families to have the best experience with renting from us and I’m truly sorry it wasn’t the outcome you wanted.
