We had a great trip from San Diego to Jalama Beach in the Gatecrasher! My family of four slept comfortably inside and the awning provided great shade when we were ready to escape the sun. The van ran great and we had no mechanical issues at all. You can tell that Ian has put in a lot of work and love into this van- and we highly recommend renting the Gatecrasher.

Ian was incredibly helpful and kind - allowing us to borrow some needed gear for our trip. The Gatecrasher was everything we hoped it would be; fun to drive and spacious for 4 friends traveling the coast for surf.

the vehicule is very cool. very well modified. The interior has all that one need for a least two weeks. For more then 2 weeks , it need's some updates. But overall the gatecrasher is what it says... go almost every where , and is very nice to drive. :-).

Had a great trip on Ian's Westfalia which worked great for a camping trip to Mt. Palomar for my son's birthday. Van works great, is fun to drive and Ian equipped with everything we could possibly need. looking forward to renting it again!

Rented this van for my son's 12th birthday and spent a few days at the campgrounds in Cardiff. Was awesome to roll around town in this classic rig and even dad reliving his youth. Ian was super great to work with too!

My girlfriend and I rented this van for 4 nights and it was amazing. I had never fallen in love with an inanimate object until we travelled with this Westy. Ian and his wife were super helpful and gave a great orientation for everything. Ian clearly loves this van and so it's very well taken care of. It's got a new clutch and engine and drives great (although slow of course). Driving on hills can be a bit difficult because it's pretty heavy so bone-up on your stick shift skills.The seats are comfy and the sleeping upstairs or down is great. The stove and sink work perfectly. There's everything you need to go camping: sheets, blankets, lots of pillows :), cutlery, cooking equipment, dishes, cups, hipster lanterns, USB charger and camping chairs.Here's a collection of our favourite moments: 1–Driving between Idyllwild and Cuyamaca Rancho on slow, windy roads listening to indie music and stopping for wine tasting and pie. 2–Relaxing on the downstairs bed with the door open while we listened to Jazz music from the sound system and watched the fire with the doors open. 3–Waking up in the upstairs canopy with a view of the beach and the waves crashing.Do yourself a favour: rent this van and have an amazing time.

Simply put - the Gatecrasher is amazing! Fun to drive, fun to camp in and overall an awesome experience.

How do I begin to describe one of the best weekends, maybe even THE BEST weekend, of my life?I originally went into this rental process with the hope that a surprise trip for my boyfriend's 35th birthday would just make him giddy and soften the blow of being closer to the 40 mark. When I told him about his adventure from 34 to 35 that we were taking over the weekend, the look of sheer joy was so monumental that I don't think words could do it justice. What I wasn't expecting was the welcoming vibes and utterly epic host and Westy duo. When I connected with Ian, he was so awesome to chat with and made everything a breeze.Thursday evening, once we had eyes on the Gatecrasher, I knew this weekend was going to be spectacular. Ian made sure to do a full check of everything on the vehicle so that he could give us a thorough run down of all of her quirks and special abilities (there's a built in shower for those boondock nights or quick rinse after a dip in the big blue! Hell yes!). We felt like we had been given all of the tools for a successful and 'gram-worthy' weekend. Ian also had some pretty epic items available as add ons and for newbie Westy peeps, the fact that those were available made all the difference. If you choose to add anything on, choose the cool chef table, it was a Godsend! The motor ran smooth, the sound system was pumping and there was no better feeling than the wind in our hair with the ability to call anywhere home for the night.I'm going to be biased and say that the Gatecrasher has a certain magic in it's 33 year old bones. We didn't stop smiling the whole time and at the close of the weekend it was my turn to be surprised. Ryan dropped down on one knee, proposed and I said yes! Without this trip and incredible Westy, our engagement story may not have brought a constant smile to my face...it was utterly PERFECT.Thank you, thank you, thank you to Ian & Aaryn for trusting us to take your love child out on the open road. It was a weekend I will never forget and cherish for all of my days
