We booked a rental for last week beginning Tuesday, 10/22 through Sunday 10/27. On 10/15 prior to our trip the host messaged me and said the AC had been broken and was in the shop to be repaired. He said he would keep me up to date on the repair. On Sunday 10/20 at 8:20 pm he sent me a message (less than 48 hours before our trip) that the AC was not repaired and that someone had booked a trip to use it and he didn’t have time to get it fixed from the 15th to the 20th. With it being less than 48 hours before leaving and the risk of not being able to secure another rental or having to cancel our trip, we kept our reservation.Myself and my children went to our camping destination, Amargosa Sand Dunes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes outside Vegas on the night of Tuesday the 22nd after picking up the RV. On Thursday morning 10/24 I texted the host that the generator was no longer working. The host was responding, offering suggestions to try and get it running. Ultimately nothing worked and when I checked there was no oil in the generator. My husband was joining us at the destination that afternoon after work and so we offered the solution of renting a generator for the rest of the trip and sent the host a link with to Home Depot with the rates and my husband could pick it up before heading out of town to meet us. The host completely stopped responding at that point and we never heard from again for the remainder of the trip. My husband had to purchase a generator off Facebook marketplace for $500 to get us by the remainder of the trip. He even brought out oil to add to the generator to see if it would start, and it did not. We had been saving in order to afford this trip to begin with and then had to pay for a generator. On top of not having the AC working in the RV. Also, the RV ran out of water on Thursday afternoon. No one had taken showers, done dishes, or used excess water. We failed to check the water tank level when we picked up the RV and took the hosts word for it that he filled the tank full.

We loved our RV vacation! Our family of 4 fit comfortably, and we enjoyed the freedom and convenience of exploring multiple sites/states in the RV throughout the week. The RV was clean and well stocked with necessities.There could have been better communication leading up to the trip. I had messaged Samuel through the Outdoorsy app a couple of times and got no response, which was very disconcerting with only 1 day before our trip and stressed me out not knowing if everything was set for pickup. A note for guests: the "rental documents" link includes the host's phone number in the top right of the page. Once I discovered this, I texted Samuel (instead of using the outdoorsy messaging), and thankfully he replied by the next day. So, you may have better luck reaching your host that way! Once we were on our trip, Samuel was very responsive to our texts with questions about the RV.

Our family trip has been fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed life on the road. The RV is definitely roomy enough to accommodate the five of us. The beds are comfortable to sleep on, the kitchen and bathroom amenities work well. We had a blast!
Sam is very responsive and helpful. Definitely recommended!

Samuel was a fantastic host. He was responsive to my *many* questions and extremely helpful. When we were running late, he was very gracious in extending the drop off time for us.

Our very first RV experience and it was amazing! He explained a lot during the walk thru and still helped while we were out on our trip! Can’t wait to do it again!

The host was very accommodating and friendly. The RV was stocked nicely (could use a strainer), with only a few minor issues.

This was my very first time renting a RV and driving an RV. Took a short couple day trip and the trip itself was great. We had challenges with the extender of the RV which caused us to not be able to use the Pop outs. Following the instructions of the host, the system itself was faulty. And then on the way back we blew a tire. Later learned the tire was 10 years old. Completely blew and stripped on the highway. This was very scary since it was my first time and it was during nighttime on the highway. Samuel didn’t call once, didn’t know if the RV had a spare, and didn’t even show up when it was time to return the RV. No walk through, nothing. I had to pay for the tire repair on site ($276) after waiting 3 hours for the repair man to come and another 1 hour to be fixed. completely unexpected and it took over a week for them to reimburse me. I had to submit a claim through Outdoorsy and when reimbursed they didn’t even send the correct amount. I feel like Pastor Samuel and his wife are renting out a RV that is not well maintained and they had very little accountability for the situation. No compassion, no concern. Unfortunately, that’s what gave this trip a bad rating.
