1995 Coachmen Catalina
This 95' Catalina Coachmen has just had a full remodel and is ready to be enjoyed. The list of upgrades goes on and on, but the most notable features are full solar power, modern gas range, wood paneling, and laminate floors. As this is an older RV, the exterior is weathered, but still has plenty of charm.Built on a Ford E-350 chassis with only 60k miles, you won't have to worry about breaking down in the middle of nowhere, comparing to a lot of the older RVs built on different platforms. Although it doesn't get the greatest mileage, a carefully planned trip can still be very affordable. The solar provides all the power you could need, unless you start cooking meth in it. What's includedFresh sheets, towels, blankets, pillows, all kitchenware (plates, dishes, cups, ect...), and camping chairs.RecommendationsTake a trip to Yellowstone, fish on the Gallatin, go for a hike in Hyalite Canyon, and much more!Other things to notePlease no smoking, keep an eye on holding tanks and empty when done, stay under 65mph, and no festivals.

My name is Asher, I just graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from Montana State and am now running this RV rental business full time. I have spent the past 2 years remodeling RVs and hosting them with the goal of sharing the experience with folks visiting Montana. I enjoy hiking, skiing, and soccer. Don't hesitate to reach out to me for any local adventure recommendations. Thanks for booking!

Asher was very kind and pick up us at the airport, he was driving and explaining all the details about the RV, the most important thing was the motor issue, thanks to that we relax and enjoy our trip. He supplies towels, sheets and blankets. The RV has cutlery and pots, we used paper plates and brought our own glasses. We also bought bear spray and left it with another one he has on the RV.
The RV is old so use it with care, we have a great time. Thanks Asher

Our trip was great, but I'm not so sure we would rent an RV again. We learned the day before our trip that the generator was dead. Without time to make changes, we dealt with it. We wasted an hour of every day, recharging our phones in campground bathrooms, just so we could have cameras for each day. The host offered us a rechargeable power bank, but it required 10 hours to charge it 100%. While we don't mind "roughing it" while tent camping, we had hoped for a bit more "luxury" with an RV. The beds were no softer than cardboard and lacked enough linens. The interior fixtures were constantly falling apart (bed parts, trim, window moulding, knobs). We were nervous about using anything for fear that it would break and we would be charged for the damage.
It was convenient to have a toilet at all times. However, the monitors for gauging tank levels was inaccurate and unreliable. For 2 days, we didn't dare use the shower or toilet because the tank monitor said it was "full." However, moments after dumping, it still said "full."
Our faith in RV's is shot. But that didn't stop us from having an enjoyable trip. At one point, we also rescued a group of friends and were able to fit them (with ample seat belts) in our RV for a day of adventure. Their RV, also rented through Outdoorsy, had broken down due to a ripped power steering belt. Together, we explored Yellowstone and had more fun than we would have separately. So, in a way, faulty RVs gave us a twisted adventure.

Asher’s answer
I was never made aware of most of these complaints. My job as a host is to be as accommodating as possible and when I was informed the shower handle broke, (I assume this is where "interior fixtures constantly falling apart") I offered to come out and fix it. This RV is not a rolling 5 star hotel on wheels and has never been advertised as so. All appliances are functional and the RV is mechanically maintained well, despite some cosmetic issues. As anyone who owns an RV knows, septic level sensors are rarely accurate and the renter was informed of this during handoff. "We didn't dare use the toilet or shower" seems a little dramatic when they could have given me a 2 minute phone call so I could remind them of what was said at handoff. Generator wasn't possible to fix in the day we had it between bookings and when I notified the renter of this, she said it was fine. It has since been replaced

Asher was amazing, easy to work with and very responsive. The RV was as expected, pretty comfy, and handled Yellowstone and Glacier pretty well. I would definitely book with Asher again.

Trip was great, would recommend if you’re looking for something small and easy to drive. Did great going through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National parks. Refrigerator didn’t function, propane ran out and couldn’t use the toilet for two days. Had some issues with black tank and communication with host but we resolved it at drop off. Generator was previously discussed before we reserved the vehicle. But cigarettes lighter and radio did not work. If none of these are an issue for any renter then it’s a great rental for a reasonable price. Host made pick up and drop off very easy, would rent from them again.
