Want to try overlanding or just want an easy to drive camper to explore Montana? This 4x4 Jeep is a comfortable ride and the 4 cyl gets good gas mileage. The camping outfit makes it a great vehicle for exploring around Bozeman, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, or even Glacier National Park. The Jeep is regularly serviced by the dealer. This vehicle does have a 2” hitch receiver for accessories such as the optional bike rack or cargo carrier but towing it limited to our addons. What's includedThe SmittyBilt roof top tent sleeps 2-3 and has a high-density 92" x 55" foam extra long full width mattress. We include bedding with pillows or two lightweight sleeping bags. The tent includes a heavy-duty waterproof top and rain fly, sunroof, side windows with mosquito netting, sturdy ladder, and interior LED light strip. It is easy to set up and take down even with one person. In the Jeep is a slide out kitchen kit with a 35 liter Yeti Tundra cooler. The kitchen includes a Camp Chef Everest 2 Burner Stove with two one pound cans of propane. Cookware is a GSI Summit set with pots for the stove and an additional Lodge cast iron griddle for the fire. All the little cooking odds and ends are included like a GSI coffee percolator and insulated mugs, dinnerware, chef knives, cutting board, cooking utensils, salt and pepper grinders, and a collapsible sink with soap for washing up.We also include two camping chairs and a roll up camp table for undeveloped campground use.For mobile power we include a Jackery portable power station that can charge cameras, phones, or small 110v devices and for light a Goal Zero camp lantern.Lastly for safety we include bear spray and a fire extinguisher with all our rentals.Contact us for a comprehensive list of all included equipment.RecommendationsWith all the National Parks and National Forests near Bozeman there are options for every kind of camping. Spend a night or two in the tent and grab a night at Chico Hot Springs to relax in the pool. Or you can do the tour of Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Glacier with stops at quaint Montana towns along the way. We personally like the Pioneer Mountain Scenic Byway close to Idaho and the Seeley Swan headed toward Glacier. With the complete kitchen you can cook really nice meals in camp rather than just burgers and brats. Try kabobs or make a campfire pizza on the griddle. We like jambalaya with premade rice. With an additional rental the Jeep can be used as a tow vehicle for our Little Guy teardrop camper which adds a queen sized bed, solar power and inverter, and a camping chef’s kitchen.Wanting to hit some mountain biking but can’t bring a bike? Add a bike rack to your booking and then rent bikes at one of Bozeman’s local bike shops such as Owenhouse - https://www.owenhousecycling.com/rentals/. The hitch mounted bike rack will hold 2 adult and 2 kids bikes depending on the size. We include cross bars when needed for bikes without them.
Other things to notePlease note that while this Jeep does have 4 wheel drive we limit the vehicle to paved and dirt roads.Remember that all of Montana is bear country and some campsites have rules restricting use to hard sided campers. And since we need to have the Jeep food fragrance free, to not attract hungry wildlife, the stove in the pull out kitchen is removable when you cook those really aromatic recipes such as Thai or bacon.

Wow! We had such a great experience renting from Gary and Cyndi. The Jeep is in great condition and very well-stocked with nearly everything you might need. We were really impressed with all of the thought that went into choosing the equipment the Jeep was stocked with. And the tent was amazing -- very comfortable (with great bedding, pillows, and camping mattress), warm, and huge. It was easily the nicest camping experience we've had. Gary was also terrific and we appreciated how he took time to show us how to operate everything and offer advice on routes and things to do. We highly recommend this rental!

Start to finish, this experience was top notch! Gary was very responsive to answering questions and making recommendations. He checked in with me before pick up and made sure everything was ready upon my arrival. The vehicle was clean and in good working order, the tent was spacious and easy to put up/take down by myself- if you’re 5’6’’ or less, a step stool comes in very handy though. The camp stove worked well and was well stocked with plates, bowls, silverware and cooking utensils. The cooler kept everything cool for all 4 days too. My trip was extremely comfortable in this vehicle even when the weather was less than ideal. Highly recommend!

This car was great. We had everything we needed for a successful week of camping and the service was great! It is a bit small for more than 2 people but for 2 we were able to make it work! 3 would be possible but would need less baggage than we had.

I’m so glad I went with Gary for our Yellowstone/Teton adventure. We made memories that will last a lifetime. We walked 60 miles in a week! Gary had everything we needed for our trip because we flew to Bozeman with just a carry on. Keep in mind there wouldn’t be room in the vehicle for more than that anyway!

Have a question?Get answers directly from the host
Q.Can I get airport pickup?
A.
We do not offer airport pickup on this vehicle as we like to have time to go over features of the camper. Bozeman has Uber, Lyft and taxi service and it is only a short drive to our location. Those services are also much cheaper than through Outdoorsy and can be scheduled in advance.
Q.How much propane does the stove use on a # day trip?
A.
We provide two 1 lb bottles of propane on any trip. The stove uses about as much as a grill which has a 20 lb propane tank. How much you use of course depends on what you cook but you can guestimate if you know how long your grill tank lasts. A recipe that simmers for 20 minutes is of course going to use a lot more gas. Walmart has 4 packs for sale and local grocery stores have propane too. We can also provide extra that you pay for if you use them, see our add on.
Q.What are the pickup and drop off times? Can I pick up my rental early/late/at night?
A.
For pickup and drop off our times are noon, which is different than the Outdoorsy default. Alternate pickup times can be negotiated depending on availability. Please check with us before you book your rental.
Since we turn around our vehicles in a day we do not always offer late drop off as we need time to clean a vehicle.
We value our family time and need time to separate business from our household life therefore any pickup or drop off outside of 8AM to 8PM will incur a fee of $50.
