Where to start. I spent countless hours planning for this trip. I looked at Eddie’s van in person before renting to make sure it was a good fit. Upon meeting Eddie to get the van it was pouring rain. I wasn’t able to inspect the outside and we were rushed to move through the inside. Eddie showed me simply how things worked and I was on my way. Upon day one I noticed a lot of broken things around the van. The velcro to secure the curtain for privacy was down to one tiny dot to hold a heavy curtain up. I had to rig it the whole time for privacy. The freezer door screw was undone and the first time trying to open the freezer door the door came off so I was unable to use the freezer the whole trip. Eddie made sure to charge me for this later and also charged me for a crack in the shelf in the freezer when the before photo shows the plastic was already cracking. there were staples put into wood seating area to hold pieces together and there was a side table that banged up against the kitchen area every time you hit any bump because it had no latch to hold it in place. Talk about annoying when you’re driving 1500 miles. While Eddie was responsive about things on the road the whole experience really took a turn when I went to bring the van back. I had to rent the van for an extra day because I got food poisoning on the road and ended up in the ER. I was by myself on this trip with my two dogs and wasn’t able to drive the van back for delivery so I paid for an extra day to have time to clean the van and return it to Eddie. Once I got out of the ER i drove the van back and deep cleaned it. Swept, mopped wiped down everything inside and even wiped down the back bumper and side of the van. I also dumped black and grey tank and filled water even though I prepaid for the dump. Eddie didn’t find it necessary to refund for dumping or use that $75 fee towards something else. Eddie wanted me to return the van a hour early the next day because he had something to do and wouldn’t compensate me for the hour. But if you return it 30 min late you will pay for every half hour late. Seemed unfair. Well Eddie was just gearing up. I was charged for my service animal even though I informed him before going that one was a registered service dog. He charged me $150 for 2 hours of cleaning saying there were bugs on the bumper that I didn’t clean off and sand on the floor mat where my feet where when I drove the car to drop it off. He told me upon pick up to just “spray down the outside and wipe down the inside and that would suffice” but that was not true. It was New Year’s Day and I couldn’t get propane because U-Haul was closed so Eddie charged me $30 fee and $10 for the propane I used to boil a pot of water. I was charged for the Tv mount and I never once touched or used the TV, I was charged for a wire to the hot water heater saying I burned it up when I only boiled a pot $40 of water, I was charged for the freezer door which was broken day one. I would have rented from Eddie in the future had he been a bit more focused on the customer experience than nickel and dime-Ing me during his “slow season”. I spent the last two days of my trip miserable and sick and paid an extra $800 for it when all the fees were totaled up by Eddie. Prepare yourself for the deposit to not be return or receive very little back. I attached photos of the van when I returned it to see how the outside was clean. Eddie also charged me for the 12v electric plug cover falling off when it fell off during the initial walk through when I received the vehicle. He saw me open it right in front of him and it fell off and he charged me for it. Best of luck to future renters. Do yourself a favor and find a mom and pop renter who rents their camper for joy for others and NOT someone who does it as his full time job/business cause he is here to get paid and doesn’t care about the rest. The end of this experience left a icky feeling for me about Eddie and I wouldn’t rent from him or recommend his vans to my friends or family.
Eddie’s answer
The renter failed to take care of the unit in the way agreed upon per contract signed by all parties and listed on the listing page, resulting in penalties and fees.

The RV was very clean and ready to go when I picked it up. He explained all the systems and made sure I knew how to operate before I left. I had no problems at all with the RV on the trip and everything worked well. I washed it and returned it, and Eddie only charged me for the appropriate things that were needed to get it ready to rent again. Overall, the great experience and I would rent another RV from Eddie without hesitation.

Great RV. Eddie was very thorough, and responsive with a couple issues we had. Making sure we had everything we needed. Very accommodating in our special circumstances. Punctual in pick up and delivery times and accommodating as well when we had flight delays. We had a great time. Thank you Eddie.
