2022 Basecamp Basecamp
Airstream’s Basecamp 16X is a small camping trailer that’s tough enough to go anywhere your wanderlust takes you, and comfortable enough to help you really enjoy the time you spend there.Basecamp is both light and aerodynamic — which helps increase fuel efficiency. The kitchen has a two-burner gas stove, sink, microwave, refrigerator, and storage space. While you're cooking, the panoramic front windows let you take in the world around you.Two benches and a seat span the inside of the rear to make room for five people (or more) to lounge, eat, and hang out. And when you’re ready to get some rest, the benches become a bed for two adults and one or two small children. You can also use half the benches for a bed for one that gives you room to get ready.Basecamp offers multiple comfort features -- when you’re setting up camp somewhere hot, the trailer's air conditioning will keep you cool. In cold locales, the onboard furnace and hot water heater systems will warm things up. For recharging after a day of adventuring, Basecamp has a wet bath with flush toilet and shower.Basecamp can hold an additional 850 lbs of weight added in storage, so using the back hatch you can load bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, skis, etc. directly into the trailer for travel. What's included* Orientation Walkthrough and Brake Controller Calibration / Check (allow 60 minutes); additional info in Rules of the Road.

We live in the Las Vegas area with two wily puppies just beginning their adventures. We enjoy exploring the desert and mountains - hiking, rock hounding and snowshoeing in the winter. We love creating unforgettable experiences and want others to be able to as well.

* TOWING - To tow Basecamp, you will need an SUV or truck that can tow 3500 lbs and hold a hitch (tongue) weight of 410 lbs. Trailer dry weight is 2650 lbs.
* HITCH - You will need a 2-inch receiver - we will provide the hitch, which has a sway bar attachment for additional driving stability. We also provide the sway bar. We can also accommodate vehicles with various lifts.
* ORIENTATION WALKTHROUGH - **Please allow around 60 minutes for turnover.** We will provide a walkthrough and instructions on Basecamp features, appliances and operations when you pick up. This includes installing and test driving the trailer using the electronic brake controller. It is the renter’s responsibility to understand and follow instructions on towing and operating Basecamp systems. Improper handling of any of the systems, features or appliances in the Basecamp may result in damage and the renter will be liable for cost to repair. We’ll provide a pre-departure checklist to be signed by both parties regarding condition and operation of vehicle - that protects both parties.
* PETS ALLOWED on approval — we are dog friendly. Only clean and dry pets allowed inside; excess dirt will result in an additional cleaning fee.
* OFFROADING - Talk to us about your offroading plans; we know some great places and we can talk about what the Basecamp can handle. Basecamp can go places where there is no cell service so make notification arrangements in advance - let people know where you're going.
* BURNING MAN - Due to demand and additional cleaning required, additional charges apply if you’re renting during Burning Man, whether you're attending or not. If you are planning to attend, your trip needs to be approved.
* MOONSHADE AWNING - if you rent the MoonShade awning, take it down in windy conditions. This will help avoid damage fees that will otherwise be pulled from your security deposit.
* CLEANING FEES - unit should be returned as clean as it was when it was picked up / delivered; if returned not clean, $150 will be pulled from your security deposit.
* NO SMOKING - if there's evidence upon return that smoking has occurred in Basecamp, your full security deposit will be pulled to cover cleaning fees.
* GRAY/BLACK WATER TANK - it is your responsibility to dump the combo gray/black water tank; we are happy to do this for you upon request for a fee (select this option in Add-ons). If the trailer is returned without the tank dumped, $200 will be pulled from your security deposit to cover the cost of making the sanitary dump.

Life Elevated! Words or pictures can’t begin to describe how wonderful it was to spend time in the great outdoors and enjoy the beauty of nature, not to mention how great Dan & Angela were with sharing their Basecamp and all its amenities. They made everything so easy for us to relax & enjoy the scenery and our time together. No second thoughts about doing this again, couldn’t have been better! Thank you!

Had a wonderful time with “Binks” in Zion. Dan and Angela did a great job making sure we knew how the Basecamp worked and that we were comfortable before leaving for our trip. Communication was clear and quick. I would highly recommend folks renting this camper from Dan and Angela. We will definitely be renting again!!!

Dan & Angela were amazing throughout our whole trip. From booking the Airstream, to the walkthrough and the return everything was a breeze. Dan gave us detailed instructions on how to operate the Airstream, helped us hook it up to our 4Runner and we’re very responsive for any questions we had. We’d definitely rent again and recommend them for anyone looking to get away with a small camper. We took it to Zion, our first time going. And it did great on highway as well as maneuvering the campground.

Dan and Angela were wonderful. They were very responsive with the communication throughout the entire experience. They took their time to show everything and gave detailed instructions before departure. Because of this, even though I was a newbie, I felt confident towing the trailer. Binx (the name of their Basecamp) was everything I had hoped for. The trailer is in excellent condition and well-cared for without any mechanical problems.
We had a wonderful time boondocking outside the Grand Canyon North Rim and also visited the Mt. Charleston area upon Dan's recommendation.
Without hesitation, I will rent from them again.

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
Pick up is between 8:00 am and 11:00 am; drop off is no later than 5:00 pm. If you need to pick up the night before your trip, we can probably make arrangements.
Q.Can you run the AC unit on the trailer batteries?
A.
No. The AC unit needs power either from a generator or from a utility connection (i.e., shore power).
