Rocky Mountain Campervans is a true family business (and woman owned). We were the first campervan rental company in Colorado. We have two locations with full fleet of vehicles - Denver and Las Vegas. We are local experts and happy to help plan your vacations. You can call us with any questions or to help with the booking process: 720 593 0433 or send us a note! Unlike other people renting out personal vehicles on rental sites you are renting with a true rental company and this is our full time job. We provide full service 24 roadside assistance and phone assistance at no charge for your rental. We provide peace of mind for your vacation and a really unique experience! We are a true rental company and that comes with some additional perks. We have onsite mechanics to ensure the vehicle you rent is in top shape and is checked prior to each rental. We also have back up vehicles - if anything should occur during your rental we have you covered. We have full time employees available to switch you out on the road and to provide 24 hour concierge service throughout your rental. You will find our vehicles to be fully stocked with everything you need. You will also find that our vehicles are not covered with loud graphics or large 'rent me' or 'phone numbers'. We want you to feel safe when you travel with all of your belongings and we don't think covering a van with graphics helps that. We want you to be a traveler, not a tourist.Erin and Boyd are long time Volkswagen enthusiasts and consider their 1977 Volkswagen Camper a part of their family. They camp in her as often as they can along with their kids and shop mascot Milly Grace. The couple spent their first vacation together exploring the island of Hawaii (The Big Island) in a rental 1986 Vanagon Westfalia and took a honeymoon exploring New Zealand in a Volkswagen Eurovan for two full weeks. They started Rocky Mountain Campervans in order to bring their love of low key, low impact, campervan travel to Colorado and the American West.

Mileage Overage
130 miles are included/night in the rental fees. The mileage is averaged over your entire trip. For a 10 night trip you have 1300 miles included. You can opt to have double mileage, 260 miles/night, for an additional $25/night OR you can pay for mileage overages by the mile at $0.39/mile. You don’t have to decide ahead of your trip. We calculate the best option at your return. We allow a maximum of 260 miles/night. If your trip exceeds 260 miles/night you will be charged $0.39/mile for the entire mileage overage.
Travel Restrictions
Travel is limited to a maximum of 260 miles/night averaged over your trip (only 130 miles/night are included in rental rates – additional mileage subject to addition fess. See our mileage section for details). Travel to Mexico, Black Rock Desert, NV, or the burning man festival is not allowed at any time. Travel into death valley is not allowed May-September.
You should not plan continuous drives longer than 6 hours in a day for a Eurovan or 4 hours in a Vanagon. These campers are meant for enjoying the ride and taking your time. There are instances where a longer drive can be accommodated. If you are planning on longer drives please contact us to discuss and to get permission to do so.
Road Restrictions
Sorry, you can’t take it to Burning Man. Playa dust is corrosive to sensitive electrical systems and very difficult to remove. If you take a camper to burning man festival you will forfeit your security deposit in full and you agree to purchase the vehicle at the fair market value prior to your trip, due to the potential for future deterioration of the vehicle and its systems.
These are not off-road vehicles. Unimproved roads, closed roads, trails, 4x4 trails and tracks are not permitted at any time.
Due to a very steep grade driving up/down Pike's Peak is not allowed, nor is any other road that requires downshifting for descent. Unpaved state and federal forest roads are permitted if they are currently maintained and well-graded. Exercise caution and good judgment when traveling on such roads, as the lessor is liable for any major paint, tire, window or other damage. Driving slowly will help to avoid such damage. If a breakdown occurs in any restricted areas, due to driving the vehicle more than is allowed in one day (see travel restrictions), or due to bad judgment, the lessee will be liable for all towing and repair costs, their security deposit will be forfeited and they will not be reimbursed for the remainder of the rental contract.
Vehicle pick up and return
Vehicle pick up & return is by the applicant only and is by appointment. We are available 7 days a week 8am-6pm, every day of the year, except major holidays. In the event of a travel delay we will work with you to accommodate you as best as possible. We do offer pickup and drop offs outside of 8am-6pm with prior approval. We provide a comprehensive vehicle orientation prior to each rental, which the primary renter shall sign as evidence of receiving operation instructions.
Hire Period
A rental day is defined as a 24hour period. If you pick up your van at 3pm on your first rental day, then it is due back at 3pm on your last rental day. Vehicles returned late will be assessed a fee. We charge $25.00/hour past the rental return time. Returns more than 2 hours late will be charged an additional ½ night. Returns after 6pm will be charged an additional night.
Drivers
All drivers must possess a driver’s license (valid for the entire rental period) and be present at time of vehicle pickup. An international driver’s license is recommended for foreign tourists and required for if you will be purchasing insurance coverage. At least one driver must be 21 years old. Renters aged 21-24 are subject to additional verification requirements for insurance purposes. Only drivers listed on the Rental Contract are allowed to drive.
Reservation Deposit & Payment
A deposit of $250 U.S.D. is required to secure a booking. The receipt of this deposit does not imply acceptance by the Lessor of the booking. Only when the booking has been confirmed by the Lessor is the deposit accepted, as the first installment of the total payable. 50% of rental fees are due 30 days in advance of pickup. Full payment is due on day of vehicle pickup, i.e., balance of rental fee and $1000 security deposit. All fees are payable in U.S. Dollars by cash, Cashier’s Check, Travelers Check, MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover Card. Sorry, no personal checks. THERE WILL BE NO REFUND OF TIME CHARGES FOR LATE PICKUP OR EARLY RETURN
Security Deposit
A $1000 security deposit is required at time of vehicle pick up. Security deposits are held subject to the terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement and are fully refundable less any damage, loss of equipment, excess cleaning, refueling, excess mileage and any outstanding fees.
Taxes & Fees

S.L.I. Provides you with the following benefits: When you accept S.L.I., The policy may provide you with excess coverage for the difference between that provided in your rental agreement (minimum requirement is the state financial responsibility mandated by the applicable insurance jurisdiction) and $1,000,000.

Accidents
In the unlikely event of an accident you must call Rocky Mountain Campervans LLC as soon as it is safe to do so. If you are in an accident with other vehicles, be sure to get the driver’s license and insurance information of everyone involved. If there is an injury or the vehicle is not drivable you will have to call local authorities to file a report. If you have an accident you are responsible for your accommodation expenses. We will work very hard to help you get back to your vacation as soon as possible.
Rocky Mountain Campervans LLC is not liable for accidents caused by adverse weather or wildlife. It is a fact of life here in the Rockies. For that reason, we urge all renters to keep it slow in the snow and keep your eyes open for deer and elk while in the high country.
Mechanical Problems
Our vehicles are regularly maintained by professional mechanics to ensure their reliability. However, some of our vans are truly vintage, and from time to time mechanical and other issues may arise. In the event of an issue or if you suspect an issue you must contact us immediately.
Often, problems with these vehicles only require minor fixes and we can get you back on the road without much hassle. Failure to contact us, and to either keep driving or attempt to fix the vehicle yourself without our approval, or ignoring our instructions for an assessment of the vehicle may result in loss of security deposit and will void any rights to a refund.
We will cover any towing, parts, or labor needed to get you back on the road. We may refund a portion of your rental fees in the event of a lengthy repair. Rocky Mountain Campervans LLC’s liability is limited to refunding your rental fees for the remainder of your rental contract with us. In the event that we cannot get you back on the road in a timely manner we will get you a replacement vehicle if one is available. It is our policy to keep a minimum of 2 vehicles off schedule for standard maintenance and to serve as back ups. The replacement vehicle may not be the exact same type of vehicle that you started with. If a replacement vehicle is not available or if it will require more than 24 hrs after your vehicle has been assessed by an approved technician to either repair or replace your vehicle you will at that point have the option to cancel the remainder of your rental contract for a refund of any time out of the vehicle through the end of the rental contract. At that point the customer will need to make other arrangements for the remainder of their trip at their own expense.
One Way Rentals
One way rentals are possible for an additional fee that is dependent upon the vehicle drop off / pick up locations. One way fees are non-refundable at time of booking. Please contact us for detailed pricing and options.
Pets
Pets are welcome with prior approval. A $50 per pet per rental fee is required (max 2). If there is evidence of an unauthorized pet within the vehicle a minimum fee of $200 will be assessed.
Smoking
All of our vehicles are non-smoking. Please smoke outside the vehicle only. If there is any evidence of smoking within the vehicle a minimum fee of $500 will be assessed.
Pop Top
If your campervan has a pop top you will be instructed on how to raise and lower your pop top properly. If upon the return of your vehicle the mattress is not stowed properly or the pop top is not latched properly as clearly demonstrated at vehicle pick up you will be assessed a $15/night fee for each night of your rental contract. Improperly stowing the bed or improperly latching the pop top causes undue stress to the pop top and its hardware.
Fuel
The fuel tank will be full on pickup and has to be returned full. Always re-fill with "PREMIUM" grade (89 octane in the high country, 91 octane in the low country) fuel. If you return you van with a less than full tank, then refueling will be charged at a rate of $6/gallon and deducted from your security deposit. A full tank of propane is provided with your hire. You are not required to return the propane full.

We provide cleaning supplies to maintain your van, please utilize them throughout your rental. Please remove all trash, sweep the floor, wipe down the stove and counters, wash dishes and empty your gray-water tank upon return of your van. Failure to do any of these or the need for excessive cleaning will result in additional cleaning/detailing fees. For long-term winter rentals we may require occasional removal of magnesium chloride, any cost of which will be fully reimbursed by Rocky Mountain Campervans LLC with receipt submissions.

Have a question?Get answers directly from the host

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
The default pick-up and drop-off time is 10:00AM. You can set those timings to anywhere between 8:00A and 6:00P for no charge. Times before or after are possible, but with a $50 "after hours" pickup fee. We rent on a 24-basis, so if you add time by, for example, setting the pickup time to 10:00AM and the drop-off to 6:00PM, which would add a full night's rental fees to the booking. You could add an hour for free, 2-3 cost a partial night's fees, any more than that adds a full night.

Q.Why don't you put large vinyl logos, "RENT ME" stickers, or neon women's silhouettes on your Campers?
A.
We feel it is important for people to feel safe in their camper which holds all of their belongings. We feel that putting a large amount of advertising or spray painting massive murals or blatant logos on the side of your vehicle makes you a target for theft. We don’t want that for any of our clients just like we wouldn’t want it for our own travels.

Q.Do you have airport pick up? If not how do you get to your office from the airport?
A.
Denver: We do not offer airport pick or hotel pick ups. The airport is located east of the city. RTD Light Rail is $9/person. You will take that from the airport to Union Station and switch to the W line at Union Station. You can easily walk to us from there. Please let us know if you are arriving via Light Rail. Uber/Lyft costs vary with traffic and demand. Time: 30-45 min varying with traffic. We can have LA-like traffic, so expect delays if you are arriving during rush hour.
